We were so excited to work with the Rome Area Council for the Arts in promoting this year’s beer festival. Rome Beer Fest, Sept. 17 at Heritage Park, is a RACA fundraiser, and SAI Digital is a Platinum Sponsor.

Because it was such a big project, our Beer Fest sponsorship involved several SAI Digital team members. We created digital and print marketing materials for the festival, including a website, social media, branding and advertisements. Here’s a detailed look at our Beer Fest project:

Digital

Created the Beer Fest website, with a rotating banner solution to highlight sponsors

Managed Twitter and Facebook profiles

Designed custom tabs for the event’s Facebook page

Branded the Twitter page

Implemented online ticketing program

Print

Designed a new logo

Designed event t-shirts

Created banners, fliers and posters

Designed print advertisements

Worked on various marketing materials for sponsors

Media

Radio advertising

Radio interviews

Throughout our design process, we wanted to emphasize the art of beer. Creating the new logo was the first step in that direction. The logo, with its brush strokes and paint splatters, is meant to feel like real art. Taking a cue from the logo, the website features a canvas texture and old-style typography.

Of course, creating great-looking posters and websites doesn’t mean much if no one buys tickets. We worked with TicketBud to offer tickets online; it’s easy for festival-goers to buy, and easy for Beer Fest organizers to keep track of sales. And you know we love QR codes, so we’re pumped that the tickets include QR codes to be scanned when ticket-holders enter the park.

Our custom Facebook tabs — which include a countdown, ticket information and beer list — encourage fans to buy tickets, and we’ve been using Twitter to spread the news about the beers available. This is one modern event!

We hope that our contributions will help make this the most successful beer festival yet. RACA is a great organization that promotes local artists, so if you haven’t bought your ticket yet, what are you waiting for?

We are so excited about the release of the newly redesigned BlueRidgeAHEC.org! This project brought complex opportunities to not only improve the web image for our client, but also improve their operations as they work with thousands of medical students from around the state and partner with Floyd Medical Center, Redmond Regional, Wellstar, and other medical sites.

Blue Ridge Area Heath Education Center (AHEC) is a non-profit organization that serves a variety of functions and is run through federal and state grants as well as private contributions. In order to continue growing their resources, they must constantly collect and report data on the people and organizations they serve. We saw immediately a deep need for online forms and databases that would allow routine processes to be performed by their users and seamlessly integrated into the internal database saving time and preventing error.

A glimpse of their old website

The client estimated that developing this system saved them approximately 80 hours of labor each semester, or about 160 hours a year, and while we love building really cool things that look great, this fact filled us with more satisfaction than anything else.

The Blue Ridge AHEC site contained many database-driven elements including:

multi-level access and data entry/maintenance roles,

user communication and reporting tools

real time database interaction by non-technical users

multiple security and referential validation systems

online forms importable to client local database

file storage and retrieval

online quizzes with performance review and results storage and sorting functions

embedded multimedia included videos and slideshows manageable by non-technical staff

search functions by keyword, category, and other fields as needed.
